A year ago today, Emily and I actually moved into our home in Westchester. Time flies!
Yesterday, Emily and I had our super duper ultrasound session, as she described earlier today. Well, I've uploaded the whole lot of the pics to Flickr! Here's my favorite:

A year ago today, Emily and I took possession of our home. It's one of those things that alternates between "Was it really so long ago?" and "Was it really so recent?"
Last night, Emily and I booked a cruise for December. We decided we wanted one more "just us" fling before the baby arrives, plus December is our tenth anniversay as a couple. We took a cruise for our fifth anniversary, too, so maybe this'll be a tradition.
So, where are we going? Well, we wanted to go somewhere with good medical care, since we'll be about seven months along. That ruled out Mexico and the Caribbean, and the only other place to go in December is...
Hawaii!
Which should be a lot of fun, and I've never been. We're flying to Hawaii and then cruising around the islands, which my folks did a while back and enjoyed. We're taking Norwegian's Pride of America, which sounds intriguing in this review. The "America-in-a-blender" motif of the ship kind of reminds me of Vegas. Except no gambling, as Hawaii doesn't allow it. I'm a little bummed that there's no on-ship gaming, but we'll be spending most of our time on the islands, so it's not a big deal. I'm looking forward to picking excursions... just no hiking up the volcano for the expectant mother.
Happy Birthday, Emily!
Goodness! It's already September! Time flies. Next thing I know, I'll be a dad. Which is wierd. I keep having the following reactions, with more of the first than the other two, but all well-represented:
- Wow! I'm going to be a dad!
- What? I'm going to be a dad?
- Holy crap! I'm going to be a dad?!
In other news, I recently finished The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. Awesome book. If you like any of the following, read it: comic books, Judaism, history from 1939-1955, the history of comic books, crazy twists, damn good stories.
