So, I got a job. I started last Tuesday at the UCLA Extension Public Policy Program. I'm a program representative, which means I help put together classes such as the following summer offerings:
* Mello-Roos and Special Assessment Financing: 2005 Update on Issues and Practices
* Financing Infrastructure Maintenance and Public Services
* Advanced Seminar: Subdivision Map Act
* CEQA and NEPA: 2005 Update, Issues, and Trends
* Successful CEQA Compliance: An Intensive Two-Day Workshop
Exciting, yes? So far, the people I work with are cool, I'm learning a lot, and the commute stinks. The last part might be remedied in the foreseeable future, though, since now that I have a job, Emily and I are looking to buy a place. Conveniently, we both work on the west side, so we can try to find a place on that side of town to minimize both our commutes.
In other news, I went to Comic-Con in San Diego over the weekend with Emily, her brother, her cousin, and our friend Cathy. That was a lot of fun. Lots of neat exhibits and speakers, people dressed in cool costumes, interesting stuff for sale, and sweet giveaways - I got a convention exclusive Transformer!
So, yeah, I've been busy, which is why I'm recapping all this now. But anyways, there ya go.
Happy first anniversary, Emily! I love you!
