So, when do pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training?
Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox, the 2004 World Series Champions!
Here's hoping that the team from Massachusetts gets another big win on Tuesday...
So, the Red Sox now lead the Cards in the World Series 3-0. This sets up either of two great stories:
1 - Red Sox win Series, overcome the "Curse of the Bambino."
2 - Red Sox become the second team to lose a 3-0 lead in baseball history, after just overcoming that defecit for the first time ever against their arch-rivals, the Yankees, thus resulting in the most emphatic endorsement of the Curse ever.
Interesting either way. We'll see what happens tonight!
So, here's how I did predicting the LCS's:
ALCS
Boston* at New York - Yankees in 7. Result: Red Sox in 7. Crazy series, and any series that goes 7 games could obviously go either way.
NLCS
Houston* at St.Louis - Cardinals in 6. Result: Cardinals in 7. Right team, just took them an extra game.
* = Wild Card.
Here's my World Series prediction:
World Series
St.Louis at Boston* - Red Sox in 6.
* = Wild Card.
I'm rooting for the Card's, but it just looks like Boston's momentum could be enough to finally break "the Curse."
Check out this site for some great commercials on marriage rights, currently airing on MTV. My favorites are "Threats" and "Permission."
Check out two miniatures Emily painted yesterday:

The characters are from our Dungeons and Dragons game. The one on the left is our friend Marek's character, Ku-Gorach, a giant samurai. The one on the right is Thzula Swift Hawk, an orc totem warrior and Emily's character.
I paint a little, too, but Em's stuff universally kicks my ass. She's really good.
Debate Thought - Every time Bush gets a question about jobs for today's workers, he starts talking about "No Child Left Behind." Leaving aside that NCLB is a terribly designed program, how can he claim that what's being done for today's 2nd graders has anything to do with someone out of work now?
So, here's how I did predicting the LDS's:
ALDS
Boston* at Anaheim - Angels in 4. Result: Red Sox in 3. So much for a hot last couple weeks for Anaheim.
Minnesota at New York - Yankees in 5. Result: Yankees in 4. Close!
NLDS
Los Angeles at St.Louis - Cardinals in 4. Result: Cardinals in 4. Spot on.
Houston* at Atlanta - Astros in 5. Result: Astros in 5. Spot on.
* = Wild Card.
Here are my LCS predictions:
ALCS
Boston* at New York - Yankees in 7.
NLCS
Houston* at St.Louis - Cardinals in 6.
* = Wild Card.
After the LCS's I'll check back, see how I did, and predict the World Series. By the way, I'm now officially rooting for the National League this year, as I despise both the Yankees and Red Sox.
Blogging OC gives some free press to Brunswick Orange Bowl, where my dad is the head mechanic. Cool!
From Mike, during some discussion today with our friends:
"Do ya think a group of 5 or 6 young Republicans in some Red state somewhere sits around emailing to each other why the Dems are fucked up, and marvel at how the world must be stupid for not seeing it?
If so, they're dumb."

"The first time I ever met you was when you walked on the stage tonight." - Dick Cheney, October 5th, 2004 VP Debate.

And another event.
Here are my quick picks on the eve of the MLB playoffs:

Minnesota at New York - Yankees in 5.
NLDS
Los Angeles at St.Louis - Cardinals in 4.
Houston* at Atlanta - Astros in 5.

After the LDS's I'll check back, see how I did, and predict the LCS's.
