Sunday, Emily beat me to posting the "week until wedding" comment. However, I'll now throw out there that a week from now we'll be married and on a plane to London.
Yesterday afternoon, Emily and I went down to the county clerk's office and got our marriage license. Wow, the wedding sure is approaching quickly, and getting our liscense is a very concrete example of that.
One other thing I'll say on the issue... all the references to "male," "female," "groom," and "bride" on the forms made me wince. May the day all loving partners are recognized come soon.
Emily and I went for a walk this evening, planning to go to a restaurant that looked good for dinner. Well, we walked to the restaurant, got there... and they were closed. Open for breakfast through the afternoon, but not dinner.
What to do? Well, we were hungry, so we wandered into the strip mall next to the intended restaurant, and decided to try a placed called Alegria. Wow, talk about luck. This place turned out to be absolutely great! Awesome food, lots of items on the menu, including plenty of vegetarian options, and only a mile from our place.
Em got the enchiladas veracruzanas and I got the budin moctezuma... Yum! Plus, there's a Baskin-Robbins in the strip mall for dessert. I heartily recommend Alegria, particularly for vegetarians. Just a warning, though - no credit cards accepted, bring cash-money!
Today is our 7 1/2 year anniversary. Emily thinks I'm silly to think of things like that with the wedding just over two weeks away, but hey, I'm sentimental.
Happy 30th anniversary to my folks!
Many thanks to Mike for organizing an awesome bachelor party. Last night was an absolute blast, thanks to all my friends in attendance.
Last night, Emily and I kicked off the weekend with dinner and watching the new Potter movie. Very good movie, my favorite Potter film so far.
I'm now about to head down to Mike's where I'll do lunch at the Gypsy Den, play some Strato, and then enjoy wonderful bachelor party goodness.
Yay, weekend!
This video rules absolutely. It's sad that I have less rythym than a robot, but I suppose if I turned into a tape deck, maybe I could keep a beat, too.
