Power just came back online here after being down for about 6.5 hours. I was at work/commuting for 5 of those hours, but managed to be inconvenienced both before and after.
I did come up with a bright idea when I got home, though. I decided it was time for more Hannukah, and lit the menorrah full blast. That made the apartment more livable while waiting for the electric lights.
I'll do a holiday recap later, when I have more time. For now, I'll just say that I had a great trip to SoCal.
Recently, I revamped my front office and coaching staff for my DC Dragons Strato team. I ended up hiring former Dragons players, but while searching for candidates for the jobs on Baseball Reference, I ran across Tony Suck, who would have been a good match for the Dragons for obvious reasons.
As it turns out, today I ran across an article about Tony Suck at the Futility Infielder. A funny article it was, and while there, I also found an article about Lenn Sakata. Ths is interesting because Sakata was the manager of my friend Eric's Hawaii Volcanoes from 2000 until his firing at the All-Star Break of 2003. This actually ties back into the Dragons new manager search, because I was considering hiring Sakata - after all, he did lead the Volcanoes to titles in 2001 and 2002.
It's the circle of life.
Happy Hanukkah, everybody!
This coming week is finals week for me. Not fun. Not fun at all.
