Happy Halloween! Big update here, as it's been a while since I posted.
- Last weekend, Emily and I got a ton of wedding related stuff done in SoCal. Very productive weekend, and we got to go to our temple in LA, too.
- We went to Mike's Halloween Mikestravaganza last weekend, too. I had a great time, and it was cool to see the gang again.
- Our plane back Sunday night was cancelled due to the wildfires still raging in Southern California. We got back to Sactown Monday afternoon, instead. We were lucky. Spending an extra day at her parents' house is a heck of a lot better than sleeping in a high school gym wondering if your home is still standing. When we eventually did fly back out of Burbank, we could see the Simi Valley fires out the plane windows. As wierd as the fires are on the ground, from the air it's an even stranger site.
- Busy stretch at school. Midterms... not fun.
- Emily's brother Ari and his girlfriend are visiting us this weekend. It'll be good to see them.
- Mutants and Masterminds is a REALLY good superhero RPG.
That's it for now. I'll try not to go another week between posts this time.
Due to a change of plans this weekend, it turns out Emily and I will be able to make it to Mike's Halloween party. Woohoo! Very cool. It'll be great to see everyone. It's also nice that instead of plans falling through and being stuck having nothing to do, we've got a great big party we wanted to go to anyways to attend.
Oh, and go Marlins! Great win today versus the Yankees, hopefully they can seal the deal Saturday night.
Dusty Baker, Grady Little... you're the charter members of the "I don't know when to take my starting pitchers out in game 7" club!
In the news today...
- I hope no one in LA was planning to take the bus to go buy groceries.
- China has sent their first astronaut into space. As a big believer in space exploration, I'm glad someone is doing something to push the field, since the U.S. sure as hell isn't.
- Shocking and completely unexpected: Iraq War Swells Al Qaeda's Ranks, Report Says.
This site features a ton of scans of Silver Age Marvel comic book covers. I've been on a superhero kick recently, so finding this site was pretty darn cool. In fact, the site's earned a link from my sidebar menu.
Emily is a Mac user, and I'm a PC user. We've had many a discussion about this, and she's yet to see reason (love ya, babe!). These two very amusing shorts in the style of Mac ads pretty much echo my points.

It's my birthday!
I'm now one-quarter of a century old.
Rush Limbaugh claims liberal sports media bias in treatment of black quarterback.
I think the only surprise here is that it took him until the 4th week of the season to say something like this.
