I just came within a half-inch of shooting myself in the eye with a missle from one of my Transformers. Whew!
"You'll shoot your eye out, you'll shoot your eye out..."
I just have to mention Shortpacked, a spiffy internet comic based on toy collectors. If this combination of elements surprises you, who are you, and what are you doing on my website?
In particular, check out this strip.
I'd like to take a moment and give a big ol' "Thanks!" to everyone who's congratulated Emily and I and wished us well. We really appreciate it.
I'd also like to take a moment to plug our wedding website again. We've put up a fair amount of content so far, and more will be going up soon. Please, stop by and check it out on occassion!
Today, Emily and I got engaged!
We're extremely happy and very excited. We've been talking about it for some time, and after over six years together and eight months of living together, we feel like it's the right time for us to take the next step in our relationship.
We don't have a lot of info yet in the wedding, but we've decided it will be July 4th, 2004, in Southern California. What we do have is a website where we'll be keeping everyone up to date on the details. You can find our site at emilyandgary.com.
Last night, Emily and I went to Tokyo Fro's, a sushi joint here in Sacramento. It was very, very good. They had yummy veggie sushi that I quite enjoyed, and unlike most Asian restaurants, they even have fabulous desserts. If you like sushi and come through Sacramento, you've gotta go to Tokyo Fro's.
Only 8 days and 23 hours until the 2002 World Champion Anaheim Angels open the season against the Texas Rangers at Edison Field. Woo hoo!
We are now at war.
Not that I'm excited about the war that's going to start tonight, because I'm not, but at least this part is kinda cool:
Here's a very interesting article about underused computers in schools. I must admit, it fits my experience.
I've created yet another desktop for the Bad Ass Strat-O League. This time, it's a map theme. Click below to view it in 1024x768 resolution.

Yes, I guess, I do have too much time on my hands...
In case anyone was curious, my DC Dragons went 1-5 yesterday to start the 2003 BASL season. You can read all the details here.
The 2003 Bad Ass Strat-O League season starts in 9.5 hours. Maybe I should get some sleep, eh?
Be sure to stop by my team site to read all the latest in DC Dragons news and humor!
Though suggested to me in jest by Adam, I've actually quite enjoyed the Baseball Primer and have added it to my right menu baseball links. So there!
Right now I'm listening to the BBC Radio on NPR, and they've got an article on cultural assimilation in the UK. The reporter just spoke with a Chinese woman living in the UK. Let me tell you, hearing English being spoken with both British AND Chinese accents is very odd.
In an interesting move, 16 unnamed White Sox made plans to skip a steroid test this spring. Skipping the test counts as failing it. So why would these players do this?
Well, under the terms of the current MLB labor agreement, if testing shows over 5% of the league uses steroids, testing would be made permanent.
Amazing, huh? These players felt so strongly that steroid testing should be permanent that they were willing to "fail" so that the game would be improved. That's gutsy.
Unfortunately, the players were talked out of the plan by the Player's Union brass. There's something wrong with that...
I've created a desktop using the team logos of the Bad Ass Strat-O League. Share and enjoy! Click below to view it in 1024x768 resolution.

Over the weekend, I assembled my copy of the Bad Ass Strat-O League. I'm very much looking forward to starting the season on the 15th. Go Dragons!
I just got my Sacramento River Cats 19 game mini-plan tickets in the mail today. w00p! I like baseball.
I'm currently listening to the Angels play the Cubs in a spring training game. It's pretty darn cool to finally hear baseball again - and even better to hear I'm "listening to the World Champion Anaheim Angels radio network."
If you're curious as to how the afore-mentioned 2003 Bad Ass Strat-O-Matic Draft went for my DC Dragons, check this out.
Well, I got back from a great weekend in Orange County last night. I had a really good time. Friday night, dessert at the Gypsy Den, Saturday the Bad Ass Strat-O-Matic League 2003 Draft in the morning, Woody's for lunch, and the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner, and Sunday Maggiano's for lunch and hanging with the folks.
Thanks much to all the krew who came out over the weekend to spend time with me. It had been far, far too long, and I look forward to coming back down as soon as I can.
