Tonight, after class, some school buddies - Jacqueline, Nikki, and Adrienne - and I went out on the town. Fun time!!
We wanted to go to Thai Palace, but they had just closed. So, we tried another place whose name I forget, as they had also just closed. Eventually, we ended up at the Rubicon Brewery, sight of my birthday festivities.
Afterwards, we drove a few laps around downtown Sac while blasting Eminem's new single from his movie on the way back to the Thai Palace, where Nikki and I had left our cars. Yep, I was cruising Sactown, blaring Eminem with my classmates. I sure wouldn't have predicted that when I move here.
A good time was had by all.
What do the Sacramento City Attorney and Mace Windu have in common?
This store is pretty darn awesome. Check it out!!
One of my professors, Rob Wassmer of my 220A Economic Analysis I and 251 Urban Economics courses, had an article on urban sprawl featured in the Opinion section of the Bee yesterday. Kinda cool.
Tonight, some school friends and I are meeting at a local bar to celebrate a birthday (Happy B-day, Sharyn!). Should be muy fun. However, I will not be having a repeat of what I did for my birthday.
These short blurbs are mostly just to test out my new blog software. But, if you enjoy them, more power to you!!
Gotta get my car smogged today. Exciting stuff!!
Now this is a cool and clever movie tie-in.
Though my back-ordered pre-order at Amazon.com hasn't shipped yet, I've been very geeked about the newly released D20 Modern roleplaying game this week.
Essentially, the book provides a way to play modern era games using the same mechanics as 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons. Though it's the same core rules system, magic and monsters and such are entirely optional. You can play all sorts of games, from ones inspired by X-Files, to Buffy, to 24, to Friends. Not that I'd play in a Friends campaign.
So, while I haven't gotten my copy of the book yet, the System Reference Document (which is the official rules that 3rd party companies can use to create their own products) has been posted. It's given me some inspiration.
I play in a bunch of play-by-post D&D games over at ENWorld.org and I think this winter break, I'm going to start running my own campaign...
A G.I. Joe campaign.
Now that's gonna be cool!!
Just a quick note to say that Mike is cool. Thanks for fixing my blog, Mike!!
I've recenty realized something. I'm getting a bit burnt out at school, and I finally know why.
I'm in a semester.
You see, at UC Irvine, we were on a quarter system, where we had 10 weeks of class and a week of finals each quarter, three quarters per year.
Here at Sac State, we're on a semester system. So, I just started my tenth or eleventh week of classes... and have five more weeks to go.
No wonder I'm feeling frazzled. I'm not used to maintaining my school focus for such a long streak. Hopefully, I'll adjust by next semester. Hopefully.
Hey!! Look!! My blog is working again!! Oh my goodness!!
This is really, really cool.
Well, I'll have a lot of catching up to do now. To start, I'm now working. I got an internship at the City of Citrus Heights. It's 20 hours a week at good pay for an internship, so it's good stuff. I'm just really, really busy now.
I'll leave it at that for now and try to get everyone up to speed as I think of things that've been going on and, of course, as new things develope.
